A 1995 waste incinerator in Bucheon reopened in 2018 as an arts space — the 39-metre-deep waste bunker kept as a vast raw exhibition hall.

The Samjeong-dong incinerator operated from 1995 to 2010. Kim Kwang-soo's conversion, opened as Bucheon Art Bunker B39 in 2018, preserves the huge concrete waste bunker, furnace and exhaust structures as galleries and performance spaces.
