About this place

A former military guard post on Inwangsan rebuilt as a hikers' shelter and book café — a floating timber-supported roof on the old concrete pilotis.

After Inwangsan reopened to the public in 2018, Soltozibin Architects and SN Architecture kept the concrete pilotis of a former guard barracks and replaced the structure above with a light roof carried on timber supports, creating a shelter, library and hall for hikers overlooking central Seoul.
