About this place
OMA's MEETT is a vast exhibition and convention complex north of Toulouse — a rigorous grid of concrete columns holding up an enormous flat roof that creates column-free halls beneath, all unified by a sweeping public forecourt.
MEETT (Meetings, Events, Exhibition, Toulouse) was designed by OMA under Rem Koolhaas and completed in 2020 after years of development. The 180,000 m² complex comprises three main buildings: two large exhibition halls and a convention centre, all arranged on a single elevated platform supported by a forest of concrete columns. The raised ground plane separates service flows from public circulation and gives the facility an almost infrastructural scale. The facade is a transparent skin of glass and perforated metal that allows the structural grid to read clearly from outside. A 500-metre-long public esplanade connects the buildings. MEETT is the largest convention and exhibition centre in southwestern France.
