A former water-treatment plant on a Han River island turned into a landscape park — settling tanks and concrete columns kept as gardens, a landmark of post-industrial landscape design.

Seonyudo was a water-purification plant on an island in the Han River until it was converted into a public park in 2002 by landscape architect Jung Young-sun with architect Joh Sung-yong. The designers preserved the plant's tanks, pipes and columns and planted them as aquatic and green gardens, making the site an early and influential example of industrial landscape reuse in Korea.
