Eleftheria Square (Greek: Πλατεία Ελευθερίας, “Liberty Square”) is Nicosia’s central civic hinge where the city’s fortified historic core meets newer urban growth. Located along Stasinou Avenue in the Trypiotis area, it originated as one of the early openings through the Venetian walls, known as the “Trypiotis opening,” enabling direct movement between the walled city and surrounding districts.
